When a person is stressed or upset, it can feel difficult to wait for your appointment time. Now you do not have to wait. You can get started on achieving your mental health goals today. 

We at the Holy Family University believe in giving our campus community the tools and resources to take control of your wellness and achieve your goals. With the recent addition of TAO Connect, the Holy Family University Counseling Services Center, and campus partners have made this even more accessible! Sign up for TAO below and take your first step in working towards better mental health.

What is TAO?

TAO brings high quality evidence-based interactive modules, mindfulness exercises and practice tools to you including over 150 brief, effective, educational sessions covering over 50 common topics and skills related to mental health, wellness, and substance use issues. With TAO you have 24/7 accessibility to empirically supported treatment interventions for many common mental health concerns. This resource can be accessed when it is convenient for you and completed at your own pace through a computer, smartphone, or tablet.

How to Register for TAO?

  1. In your browser window, navigate to http://us.taoconnect.org/register 
  2. Enter First Name, Last Name, and your school email address
  3. Leave the 'Enrollment Key' field blank. 
  4. Click Sign Me Up
  5. Check your email. You will be sent a Welcome to TAO email with a confirmation link which you must click on to sign in.

  • National Suicide Prevention Lifeline: The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline is a national network of local crisis centers that provides free and confidential emotional support to people in suicidal crisis or emotional distress 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We're committed to improving crisis services and advancing suicide prevention by empowering individuals, advancing professional best practices, and building awareness.
  • Crisis Text Line: Text HOME to 741741 from anywhere in the United States, anytime. Crisis Text Line is here for any crisis. A live, trained Crisis Counselor receives the text and responds, all from our secure online platform. The volunteer Crisis Counselor will help you.
  • National Sexual Assault Hotline: Chat one-on-one with a RAINN support specialist to access a range of free services including:
    • Confidential support from a trained support specialist
    • Someone to help you talk through what happened
    • Resources that can assist with your next steps toward healing and recovery
    • Referrals for long term support in your area
    • Information about the laws and resources in your community
  • WOAR Hotline: WOAR provides FREE victim and trauma therapy services to children and adults who have experienced sexual violence: this includes sexual abuse, sexual harassment, rape/date rape, and incest to heal from sexual trauma. It does not matter if the sexual trauma occurred yesterday or 40 years ago. WOAR works with anyone who has experienced sexual trauma.
  • Self Injury Helpline: If you’re dealing with painful emotions, the Self Injury Helpline is here to help.  Text to connect with a real human and strategize healthy coping mechanisms to manage your emotions. Text HOME to 741741 to connect with a real human.
  • The Trevor Lifeline (Suicide Prevention for LGBTQ Youth): TrevorText is a confidential and secure resource that provides live help for LGBTQ youth with a trained specialist, over text, online chat, or phone messages
  • Treatment Referral Hotline (Substance Abuse): The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) collects information on thousands of state-licensed providers who specialize in treating substance use disorders, addiction, and mental illness.
  • Veterans’ Suicide Prevention Lifeline: Connect with the Veterans Crisis Line to reach caring, qualified responders with the Department of Veterans Affairs. Many of them are Veterans themselves.
  • Domestic Violence Hotline: 24/7 hotline connect with specialist who will help you identify abuse, safety plan, support others, provide you with local resources, and legal help
  • National Eating Disorder Association Hotline: The National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA) is the largest nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting individuals and families affected by eating disorders. Their 24/7 hotline provides immediate support, resources, and treatment options.
